Your documents

PDFHook's tools process PDFs and other documents entirely within your browser using JavaScript. Files you open with PDFHook are never transmitted to any server, are never stored outside your own device, and are not retained by PDFHook in any form once you close or navigate away from the tab.

Passwords

Passwords entered for Protect PDF or Unlock PDF are used only in your browser's memory to encrypt or decrypt the file locally — they are never sent anywhere or stored.

Analytics

PDFHook may use standard, privacy-respecting web analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. This data does not include the contents of any document you process.

Cookies & local storage

A couple of small preferences — your light/dark theme choice, and a list of recently used tools — are stored in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and are not tracking cookies.
