ABOUT PDFHOOK

A PDF toolkit that keeps your documents on your device.

PDFHook does every merge, split, convert and edit operation inside your browser tab, using JavaScript already built into every modern browser — nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

Why local processing

Most online PDF tools work by uploading your document to a server, running the edit there, and sending the result back. That means your document — which might include a contract, an ID, or something private — passes through someone else's infrastructure, even briefly.

PDFHook takes a different approach. The moment you drop a file, everything from that point on runs on your own device: reading the document, running the edit, and generating the download. There is no server round-trip because there is no server involved in the processing at all.

What that means in practice

Processing starts the instant you drop a file — there's no upload to wait through and no download to wait for afterward. It also means PDFHook works without an internet connection once the page and its tools have loaded, and there's no file size cap beyond what your own device's memory can hold.
